Baby Hillin | 11 Weeks

11 Weeks

How Far Along: 11 Weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): lime

Gender Predictions: 3 more weeks and we’ll know for sure

Weight Gain: I’m not sure.. I haven’t weighed lately.

Maternity Clothes: Not yet, but thinking I may go shop for some this weekend. My normal jeans are getting uncomfortable.

Stretch Marks: None yet.. checking for them all the time.

Belly Button In or Out: In

Wedding Rings On or Off: On

Sleep: It’s been okay. Sometimes I sleep really well, sometimes not.

Best Moment This Week: See Movement!

Miss Anything: jeans that fit well

Movement: I think I *might* have felt the baby move this week. I was washing my hands in the bathroom and I felt some little bubbles.. kind of like little pops on the lower right side of my stomach. It was a feeling I haven’t ever felt before. When I got back to my desk and sat down, I text Nolan to tell him and while I was waiting for his reply I felt it two more times! I’m not 100% sure, but I’ve read its possible. I haven’t felt it since then though.

Cravings: still Mexican food, tomatoes and other salty/acidic foods. I used to love love love Reese’s peanut butter cups and I don’t even want to look at one right now. Bleh!

Symptoms: Still a lot of nausea, still extremely tired, still having heartburn. Everyone keeps telling me it should start getting better soon.

Noteworthy Moments: The possible movement was a pretty big deal to me. And a lot of people are starting to notice my little bump!

Oh! I almost forgot! I had my first doctors appointment! Everything checked out good…but she surprised me and ordered an ultrasound of her own! So I got to see the little bean again. Heartbeat was still pretty high – 178 this time. The movement was through the roof this time around, no poking or prodding needed. Our baby was either really mad or really excited! The ultrasound tech was having a hard time getting measurements; she kept stopping and we just watched it bounce around and then she’d start again. I saw two little legs kicking away, and at one point the baby turned towards the front and you could see a little face and a fist, kind of like a stretch and a yawn! I teared up again, of course. The biggest news of the ultrasound, was that our little baby is growing really fast! Our last ultrasound, we measured 4 days ahead – making our due date January 7. And this time around, we measured 6 days ahead. So even though I’m supposedly 11 weeks in this picture, baby is measuring almost a week ahead. This would make our due date January 5. So its possible our baby will either be early or really big! Anyway, more ultrasound pictures…

Baby Hillin | 10 Weeks

10 Weeks

How Far Along: 10 Weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): plum

Gender Predictions: Nolan and I both think it’s a boy!

Weight Gain: I think 7 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: My normal clothes are still working for now, but maternity clothes may be needed soon.

Stretch Marks: None yet. Fingers crossed!

Belly Button In or Out: In

Wedding Rings On or Off: On

Sleep: pretty good! I think my nausea medicine helps though.

Best Moment This Week: finally wearing clothes that fit and show off my little baby bump! (picture posted below!)

Miss Anything: not being tired/nauseous

Movement: nope, not yet

Cravings: tomatoes and olives

Symptoms: still have some nausea and noticing some round ligament pain – baby is growing!

Noteworthy Moments: We bought a new car! We’d been discussing trading my 2 door Altima in on a bigger car or an SUV, but we weren’t going to do anything until probably the fall. Well my sister in law and her husband decided to buy an SUV last week and we ended up buying their car! It has much more room and I’ll actually be able to get a car seat in it. That was the biggest thing.. my car’s backseat was incredibly small and nearly impossible to get a car seat in and out of. I’m thankful for how things work out!

Baby Hillin | 9 Weeks

9 Weeks

How Far Along: 9 Weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): green olive… yum!

Gender Predictions: So many old wives tales! It seems like everyone I know has their idea of a sure way to know what you’re having. It’s so crazy, especially when they directly contradict each other. A few of Nolan’s guy friends think its a girl, but I think they’re just trying to get a rise out of him. The ultrasound tech thinks it’s a boy though… we shall see! We find out July 17 and are having our gender reveal party July 20th. (Yes, mom, I will know the night of Jake’s graduation. No, I will not be spilling the beans early!)

Weight Gain: still about 5 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: None yet. Come on real baby bump!

Stretch Marks: None yet. Fingers crossed!

Belly Button In or Out: In

Wedding Rings On or Off: On

Sleep: I cut out my afternoon naps (even though I’m exhausted by the time I get off work), but in return I’m sleeping better at night! Hallelujah!

Best Moment This Week: Seeing our little wiggle worm on ultrasound! So awesome. I almost cried the whole time!

Miss Anything: feeling like I can do whatever I want. I’m pretty tired all the time and crossing one thing off my to-do list around the house literally makes me out of breath. Its ridiculous!

Movement: Well, the baby is definitely moving, but I can’t feel it yet! Maybe another couple of months.

Cravings: pickles again, tomatoes, olives, salads, banana peppers… are we noticing an acidic trend here?

Symptoms: My morning sickness may have truly reached “morning” sickness. I’ve found if I throw up in the morning, I won’t gag the rest of the day. But if not, I’m gaggy nearly all day and might throw up at any time. Also the heartburn is in full force. Tums are a joke to this level of heartburn! Growing hair already, little baby? But weirdly enough, gum helps. So I’m stocked up on Orbit gum.

Noteworthy Moments: Definitely not twins! But we have a wiggly little baby with a good heartbeat in there. I couldn’t be happier about seeing it Friday. Also, since we’re measuring a little ahead, I’m going to wait until our actual doctor’s appointment before I change my weekly count. If she says for sure that our due date has changed, I’ll update my weeks going forward. Just for fun though, this picture and update was for 9 Weeks, but according to baby’s size, we were 9 Weeks, 4 Days.

First Ultrasound

Today, we finally got to see our little baby on ultrasound! It was amazing to get confirmation that there is indeed life growing inside me. A place local to us, Sneak-A-Peek Ultrasounds, offers packages at different stages and we chose to go at 8 weeks for what they call their “Little Bean Package”. We got heartbeat confirmation and got to see the little bean moving around. It was even moving its little arms and wiggling a little bit. Brandy, the ultrasound tech, told us I’m actually measuring a little ahead, about 4 days further along than my current due date. She even swapped over to the 3D ultrasound and let us see the baby for a minute there. It was so insane! We love this baby so much already. So on to the pictures!

Baby’s heartbeat was pretty high – 182, much too high to relate to any gender predictions. She said it doesn’t drop into a the normal heartbeat until closer to 12 weeks.

And Baby Hillin in 3D! You’re looking at the head up high, and the right arm kind of covering the side of it’s face.

Baby Hillin | 8 Weeks

8 Weeks

How Far Along: 8 Weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): rasberry

Gender Predictions: Mom and Nanny think it’s a girl. I’ve had a couple of boy dreams lately though.

Weight Gain: about 5 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Still holding out. I can’t wait to have a legitimate bump to dress!

Stretch Marks: None. Finally got my Mother’s Friend cream and started using that to deter them if I can.

Belly Button In or Out: In

Wedding Rings On or Off: On

Sleep: Still pretty rough. I had a sinus infection last week so I slept a lot, but it was never very restful.

Best Moment This Week: Seeing some of my family this past Saturday!

Miss Anything: beer.. Nolan’s Dos Equis looked really good while we were eating crawfish.

Movement: not yet, cant wait!

Cravings: Mexican food, grapefruit, cinnamon toast crunch cereal

Symptoms: still with the all day sickness. I threw up twice today. The medicine didn’t seem to be helping much so I stopped taking it but I think I’ll give it another shot tonight.

Noteworthy Moments: More comments about twins! We have an ultrasound Friday, so we shall see. I think it might be mostly bloat though. My belly isn’t nearly as big in the mornings… it just gets that way later in the day and especially at night.

Also, I’d like to give a shout out to working mommas. Pregnant or with children already present. I’m having a rough time right now and it makes me want to stay home and sleep it off all day, but duty calls. I hear that I’ll be tired for the next 18 years, so major props to the many many women that do it every day!
