About Me

Hello and welcome! I’m Jaime, wife to Nolan, momma to Whitlee and Huck! We were married in July 2013 and welcomed Whitlee in November 2014 and Huck in May 2017. We live in a small town in Southeast Texas – we have two red lights and the closest mall is almost an hour away. It’s peaceful (mostly), comfortable and perfect for our lifestyle.

I started this blog in 2014 for a few different reasons. Primarily because while my husband’s family all live within 5 minutes of us, my family does not. They miss out on a lot of the day to day that goes on in our lives and I wish they could be more included. So this gives them a chance to keep up with our crazy hectic lives and see a little more of our sweet little kiddos. Second came my obsession with wanting to document everything. I’m terrified of just not remembering. So this is my place to get it all recorded, and go back to read when I feel like I might not remember. Plus it helps with mom brain/pregnancy brain. If you want to start from the beginning, go here.

Whitlee is growing so fast (three years old now!) and she keeps us on our toes every day. You can see the progression of my growing belly during pregnancy with her and her monthly pictures up to 12 months here or read her birth story here.

Our baby boy, Huck, was recently born on May 13 with a several congenital heart defects and is a single ventricle baby, so I will be posting updates throughout our journey with that. He had his first surgery (the Norwood) at 3 days old. You can read more about that so far on this post and this one. Also his birth story here and about first surgery here. We are finally home with him, discharged at the end of September and trying to enjoy our new normal.

Our life is crazy and things move really fast around here, but I try to post semi regularly. In the mean time, take a look around and welcome to our “southernly ever after”!
